LONDON -- Chinese Ye Shiwen swam a world record of 4:28.43 to win the women's 400m individual medley at the Olympic Games on Saturday.
The previous world record was 4:29.45 set by Australian Stephanie Rice.
American Elizabeth Beisel picked the silver in 4:31.27 and Li Xuanxu of China took the bronze in 4:32.91.
