The State Development and Reform Commission released a price surveillance regulation to monitor and publish price changes of key commodities and services in market from June 1.
At present, the prices of most commodities and services are decided by the market. The measure will strengthen government macro-control and price supervision.
Price surveillance refers to collecting, analyzing and predicting prices of key commodities and services and releasing the result to the public. The government price supervision departments will analyze the relationship between price, cost and supply and demand of key commodities and services; research national economic policy effects on price change; offer predictions, forewarnings and corresponding policies for price change; and promulgate the research results except for the data falling into the category of national and commercial secrets.
The regulations require price supervision departments to provide price monitoring reports and analysis in time to reflect price changes and national policy implement condition.
