An animated movie recounting the legendary stories of the martial monks of Shaolin Temple opened Friday at the temple at Songshan of Dengfeng city, central China's Henan province.

The 52-episode cartoon film, made by a Taiwan film company under the supervision of the noted Buddhist temple, is expected to be released officially next year.

The two partners are now working on an on-line game "The Shaolin Legend Online".
