Xiamen Public Security Bureau set up a service center for Taiwan citizens Tuesday in Xiamen International Bank Building. The service center issues related certificates for Taiwan citizens to and from Xiamen.

Zhao Yongji, Vice Minister of Ministry of Public Security and Huang Ruilin, Vice Fujian Party Secretary attended the inauguration ceremony of the center.

In 1994 and 1997, Xiamen was authorized by the Ministry of Public Security to issue entry permit on arrival for Taiwan citizens. Since then Xiamen Port has issued entry permits for over 350,000 Taiwan people, the largest number among all the ports in the Chinese mainland.

At present there are over 2000 Taiwan enterprises in Xiamen, and every year more than 400,000 Taiwan visitors are coming to Xiamen for sightseeing. The daily passengers through the direct voyage between Xiamen and Jinmen exceed 1000.
