THE weather on the closing day of the Shenzhen Universiade will be fine with occasional light rain, the Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory said yesterday, Aug 18.
Temperatures will range between 27 and 33 degrees Celsius on next Tuesday, Aug 23 and UV radiation would be extremely high.
In the days before the closing ceremony, the observatory reminded spectators at outdoor events to take measures to prevent sun stroke.
The closing ceremony will be held in Window of the World from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. when Shenzhen airport will be closed.
China Southern Airlines will cancel six flights between Shenzhen and Beijing, Changsha and Guilin during the period. It will add two flights between Shenzhen and Guilin on Aug. 24.
The airline expects a passenger surge during the Aug. 22 to 24 holidays. Tickets to tourist destinations such as Lijiang, Zhangjiajie and Huangshan Mountain were sold out.
