Starting October 11, Guangzhou will gradually start adopting a series of special "Asian Games" security measures in coach stations, railway stations, metro stations and at the airport.
These measures were announcedon October 10 by Li Dongsheng, Leader of Security Coordination Group. A total of 132 check-points will be set-up across the city including at the docks and along the waterways. Country roads and mountain paths will be patrolled and weapons or dangerous substances shall be confiscated.
