The chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation says there are key agreements still to be negotiated after the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement takes effect. He says they will have a profound impact on Taiwan's economy.

Chiang Pinkung says the signing of ECFA and agreement on the early harvest programme is just the beginning. He is calling for the parties to turn their attention to three key agreements relating to merchandise trade, service and investment.

These deals are set to be negotiated after ECFA has been in effect for 6 months. The chairman says these agreements are of greater significance for boosting the competitiveness of Taiwan's exports and investment.
