| Travel agencies busy introducing routes to Europe |

Europe has become the place to travel this year. After a tourism agreement signed earlier in the year, China's travel agencies have been scrambling to meet demand.
Traveling to Europe has been the focus of China's travel agencies' marketing campaign this year. According to China International Travel Services and China Travel Services, 20 new travel routes have been introduced. There are now packaged tours visiting different European countries within a six to 15 day period and prices range between 12,000-20,000 yuan.
China Youth Travel Services say they have introduced travel packages for both the seasoned European traveler and first timers. They will also arrange different packages for the white collar traveler and for visitors interested learning about European culture.
A staff member of China Youth Travel Services said, "After the memorandum of understanding between China and EU is signed, the lists of approved travel agencies should be announced."
Right now, Chinese travel agencies are waiting for the notice from the National Administration of Tourism. Many customers have requested information on group travel. Travel agencies expect big business during May 1 "golden week," European football tournaments and of course, for the Athens Olympic Games. Insiders also predict that within the next one or two years, outbound travel to Europe will surely become popular amongst the Chinese population. |
