<p>BEIJING -- The Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises on the Mainland (ATIEM) on Tuesday concluded its members' congress, with Kuo Shan-hui reelected as chairman.</p>
<p>At the meeting, Kuo said, "The association should serve Taiwanese entrepreneurs with a more active attitude, helping them transform and upgrade development modes while guiding them to participate deeper and more comprehensively in the mainland's economic development."</p>
<p>Also on Tuesday, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, met with some Taiwanese businessmen attending the meeting, promising a favorable environment and conditions for their businesses in the mainland.</p>
<p>"Taiwanese businessmen should seize the opportunities to strive for more development space in cross-Strait economic cooperation... and we will make more efforts to do good and concrete deeds for compatriots from Taiwan," Yu said.</p>
<p>Praising the ATIEM's work over the past six years since its founding, Yu urged the association to continue to unite Taiwanese entrepreneurs to push forward cross-Strait economic ties and contribute to the peaceful development of cross-Strait relations.</p>
