SHANGHAI, April 30 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese mainland's Taiwan affairs chief Wang Yi met with the People First Party (PFP) Chairman James Soong here Friday.
The mainland is willing to work with Taiwan compatriots who care and work for the peaceful development across the Strait, said Wang, director of the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office.
The mainland is willing to continue deepening mutual trust and expanding exchanges with Taiwan to improve welfare of people on both sides, he said.
Soong reiterated the PFP's stance that two sides of the Strait belong to one China.
The PFP will work for deeper trust between the two sides and welfare for people across the Strait as it did before, he said.
